I was very lucky to win this trip.
I had no idea that I was eligible at all.
I work part-time as a wine counsellor (selling wine). To win this trip, our store had to sell the most Icewine for our district. We were shocked to learn just 10 days ago that we had won the trip and only 2 of the 7 of us were able to rearrange our schedules so that we could go.
The winery is only 1 hour 45 minutes away, but tours like this are very costly. This one included an overnight stay at a luxury hotel, and an evening that started with cocktails outdoors in the vineyard, continued with appetizers (and more Icewine) in the barn, followed by a four-course dinner in the Founders Hall (with more wines for each course) and concluded with dessert in the underground wine cellars. It was a truly amazing experience. they sent us home with a delightful book about Icewine (down to some fabulous technical details) which includes recipes for more meals.
We are determined to win the trip again next year :) |
