1000's would about cover it!
Don't forget the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere. Large parts of South Africa have a Mediterranean climate. Hot, dry summers (winter in the US), & cold, wet winters (summer in the US.) Think California. Maybe March 2010 would be a better time to go (after summer). Or September/ October? (before winter).
