Hi Trudy,
Yes, I was panning while holding down the shutter release, so everything turned out motion blurred except for the number on the runner's shirt. That must have something to do with his fitness that part of his body did not move much while he was sprinting.
I get to go to a few games a year, but unless the tickets are very good I would rather watch on television in High Definition. The tickets we had for this night were awful, but the home team started to lose so a lot of people left and we were able to move to better seats later in the game. This one was shot from the awful seats, however...
You should check a game out if you get the opportunity. I would have liked to gone to a game in Toronto when I was there, but we had so much else on our agenda. I think you might like it if you can deal with the slowness. I occupied my time by trying to practice shooting some people, but I'm so bad at it that none turned out very well. It looks like it might be closer to see a game in Seattle than in Toronto, for you, though!
I'm an admirer of anything Canadian, we have gone to Canada for the last three vacations, and plan upon visiting again at the end of this summer. I love the music of Neil Young, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell. The only thing I can do without is the long, cold winters - but maybe in my lifetime global warming will take care of that and I can retire up there! Or perhaps a summer home in Alberta and a winter home in Florida...
Have a great evening!
