the thing is: tis palce is located between paralels 78 and 81 North!!!
yes you read it right! In the north pole, completely.
Longyearbyen is the second northest settlement in earth, losing only to Nya Ålesund, another norwigean settlement in Svalbard.
Those montains are covered wiht snow permanently and teh temperature average in sumemr is 7 degrees only... It didn't snow at all, or rained at all, and Svalbard is one of teh dryest areas on earth, beig considered a deser in some parts.
It's avery special nature indeed. And I have a wonderful time up there...
