I've got to see that somehow - I wonder if I can find a stream of that show somewhere. He really seemed to be having fun at this performance. There were video photographers documenting it, too, so maybe it will make his show someday. Look for me in the crowd if it does - I'm the one with the big lens sticking out of his face...
James Taylor stayed in the same hotel we did. We got in the elevator with a tall gray haired guy and a bunch of young women, I thought I recognized him and realized from looking at his eyes that he was James Taylor. He saw my recognition and when we got to his floor, he literally jumped and ran out of the elevator. I guess he thought I was going to give him up, maybe he's shy or something. The girls looked around and one said "What's up with that?". I told them who it was and they were disappointed that I didn't tell them. I don't know, I'm not really impressed by celebrity all that much, I'm more impressed by celebrities that are nice and human. The ones that will actually treat others like humans, actually. From the looks of Elvis and how he reacted to fans who approached him, he is like that. Seeing that before he stepped on stage made the performance much more fun for me.
Well, now I'm going to Google "Spectacle: Elvis Costello" to see if there are any streams available.
