| Francis, thank you ever so much for your very kind and welcome comment on this photograph. It took a lot of patience to get in just the right position for this shot without disturbing the bird. But, alas, I spooked him at the last moment and he took off, which probably added to the dramatic effect of the image. This is an amazing place just across the Ohio River from my hometown. I have visited it many times when the water has receded and the fossil beds are exposed. Such a wonderful and large part of the earth's history is recorded right here in good old "River City," Louisville, KY. |
