Hi David,
You're basically correct, about how the eye sees this stuff and all, however my intent really was to get the detail in the white--the angle of the light helped a bit to create a slight shadowing effect--and, being slightly more "gentle" on the whites helped darken up the blue of the sky a bit. It does look like I used a polarizer, but I really didn't.
Blinded, between Mykonos and Santorini (pictures of that yet to come) I think I'm still slightly "snow-blind". :o)
All beautiful places though, glad you enjoyed this one and thanks much for the thoughtful comments/critique.
