Lazienki Park in Warsaw (6 photos) 295 views :: Barbara aka Morgwathien (Morgwathien) Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 304 W: 70 N: 358] (1570) [Group Theme]
Lazienki park is one of Warsaw's most beautiful parks. It dates back to the Middle Ages when it belonged to the Mazovian dukes. By the early 17th century it belonged to the Polish crown and housed a royal menagerie. The pavilion designed by Tylman of Gamaren i the late 17th c. gave the park its name as 'lazienki' means 'baths'. In the 18th century, the park was laid out as a formal garden.
