These are the huge Cardington Airship Sheds which were once the centre of British Airship operations and excellence.

The sheds are 812 feet long and could comfortably house the RMS Mauritania and RMS Lusitania in each shed with the doors closed, whilst RMS Titanic would only protrude by 40 feet!

I walked around the city looking for the people who looked the most interesting and who had faces that gave away some of their character.

It's a sad thought, but the majority of these people have probably passed-on since these were taken and I often look back on these images and wonder who these people were, what had they seen and what went on in their lives?

The railway is a great place for photography, full of interesting lines, shapes, and colours, all topped with a generous helping of history. My personal favourite type of railway photography is the night images, or long exposures, where the many different coloured lights, shiny reflective surfaces and smoke make countless varied scenes.
