Snow is white. But that´s not the whole story. Snow has a great variety of tones and shades of white and sometimes of other colors.

The luminosity of snow is often very difficult to capture with digital cameras. Especially backlight situations are difficult and result in "dark" photos which however often look quite "artistic".
