[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
21st. December, the Winter Solstice, the first day of Winter.

Taken this morning whilst taking a rather chilly constitutional around Lanark Loch, just a couple of miles from home. Wonderful clear sky, the loch partially frozen over and trees still white from a heavy overnight frost. I shall try to post some other pictures from this outing later either here or on TE.

The recent weather in Scotland belies the concept of global warming - when I returned to my car half an hour after this shot, the temperature gauge read minus 7.5 degrees! Unfortunately, I believe that this cold frosty spell is due to come to an end tomorrow with miserable weather with heavy rain.

Hallo, John.
Good reflection, nice picture. I like it.
Greetings.

Looks good in dark shadows
Marc

Hello John,

Another lovely shot from your morning outing.

The way the reflection of the tree tops in the dark icy water has taken on that golden light is superb.

However, as a completely personal matter of taste, I feel that the frame is just a little
strong for such a delicate image.

I thought I might try a WS for you - I haven't inflicted one on you for sometime - you can be honest if you don't like it!

Regards,

Peter.

Very beautiful reflexion and colors!
Un soleil magnifique au petit matin!
Belle capture,
Dany

Wow - beautiful light and saturation. An excellent shot. Cold and clear conditions may not be pleasant, but they make for fantastic photography!

I love it when the reflection is more powerful than the real landscape. Great job with colours and composition. TFS. K2

I can feel the chill from here John, fine work again, good exposure that shows shadow detail too, reflection is perfect ..

Lovely reflections and I like the way the sun is just catching the tops of the trees.
Cheers, Les
