Hi all, here is my entry to the challenge. I used curves to brighten the greens, shadows & hightlights to focus on the water and other color balances. Finally, I added the filmstrip border and the text.

Higher and wider !
I've took a small slice from the middle part and repeated it (in normal and flipped position) in order to elongate the falls and after that stick the resulting image to it's mirror version.
Hope you understand ... I'm exhausted.
Have a great weekend

ps.And with this one I'll be out of this game ! |

This is far more PP ... I can't remember all the steps but it's about swapping RGB chanels and replacing colours. The result seems to be a map of some Volcanic Fjords ... I'm going crazy ... TGIF !!!

(1851) Paradise Island Edited by:suzley
(6786) |
Here, I have used your wonderful shot as a poster for our local Travel Agents window. I have cropped, distorted and changed the perstective in order to fit this into my shot. If you look closely, you will see the reflection in the window in reverse and also the righthand poster slotted behind the lady taking out her money to book a flight to Paradise Island.
Had a fun time doing this one, hope you like and truly hope all that have had a go here on this one, a fun time too.
Thankyou once again.

(1851) Photofiltre Edited by:Mirty
(275) |
This one, I realize, is a major change of the image and its spirit, but I had fun! I only hope I didn't ruin it completely.
Did a lot of things, not exactly knowing where I was heading. Hope I remember right! Anyway:
- double canvas width
- copy and paste image on same canvas
- flip horizontal pasted image and obtained a mirror image
- cloned here and there (a lot!) to create a unique cascade and differentiate the scene a little
- selected the vegetation on the right of the image and decreased gamma as to make a darker side and hopefully make it a bit different from the opposite one
- selected the background (from the beginning of the cascade and back) and gaussian blurred (1px).
- selected the furthest background and gaussian blurred again
- selected the frontal part of the picture and increased sharpness
(The blurring and sharpening were made with the intention to make the image look more tridimentional)
I left the central bush symmetrical intentionally cause I liked it. It looked to me as a little island in the water.
- Cropped a little
- Framed
Can't remember anything else.
Hope you enjoy it.

- Remove the black frame
- Tighten the composition a bit by including less of the greenery
- Reduce brightness slightly
- Increase contrast a bit
- Add a sunspot
- Played with the "hue"
- Desaturate
- Add a white frame
The original photo is already amazing. I wanted to create a romantic and melancholy mood out of it...
Enjoy,

(1851) Photomerge Edited by:pompey
(8415) |
Hi Eko,
The purpose of this workshop was to expand the top of the picture by adding some other element.
First I altered the hue a little, then i cropped and added a piece of one of my pictures using photomerge in Photoshop Elements.
I then used lots of cloning to try to merge the picture.
Added a frame.
Took about 30 minutes, hope you like this workshop and find it useful. |

(1851) Nostalic/Dreamlike Technique Edited by:ScottHale
(136) |
I removed the frame, added shadow highlights with Shadow Highlights option under Image> Adjustments>Shadow/Highlights. (to lighten the water)
Duplicated the background layer, changed the blending mode to darken, Added a layer mask, then Filter> Gaussian Blue, set to 3%. the painted on the mask with black to remove the areas I didn't want to blur. This tends to have a dreamlike/nostalgic effect. I hope it's okay, Steve and Sue (Suzely) was right, it is a beautiful image in it's own right.
Thanks for looking and I hope you like it Arkana! |

Photoshop 7:
Vertical spherize distortion (filter) to bring the waterlevel a bit higher; gives more depth.
More saturation.
I like the incoming light from the green land.
