To get rid of the distractions I first used the burn tool at 25% (in Photoshop)to darken the background. Then used the clone tool to get rid of the thing floating in the water and the edges of the pool. Then I increased the canvas size at the bottom of the image to give her feet more 'clearance'. Then cloned again to blend in the new canvas. Then finally used unsharp mask. Hope you don't mind.
