i wasnt to keen on the original background so i decided to simply change it.
Duplicated layer then used extraction tool and then applied patten overlay.

I hope you don't mind the different look. You already got a great composition and I just need to emphasize it. I also think there are too many colors on the photo so settled with the B&W feel.

-Cropped
-Cloned the pole and the rope from the guy's coat
-Adjusted saturation to 0 to give the B&W look
-Sharpened 2x
-Framed
