Venice is a place that needs little introduction. It is hard to imagine it is reality, especially for those who have never been there. It's improbable existance fascinates myself and everyone who sets foot here. It is another world with a style unmatched anywhere on the planet.

This photo was taken @28mm and then combined with a black and white layer (created by a channel mix with the blues set to low, then overlayed as a darkening layer) to bring out the clouds.

Fixing the colours

Hello Dan

Here are all the steps in Photoshop that I took for this workshop:

- AutoLevels
- lightened a bit more with curves
- increased saturation slightly
- used the Dodge and Burn tool to bring more detail in the really dark areas (like the boat in the front)
- UnSharpMask
