Wood Shavings (14)

This one is another of my hard-to-explain shots. I was hiking along a stream that wandered through a wooded valley. Every now and then I would find evidence of other humans having been there, usually in the form of some ugly litter left behind. Then I spotted a puzzling sight...this huge pile of curly wood shavings. The pile was about three feet in diameter and one foot deep. It was all neatly collected in this one location. There was no sign of logging or other wood workings anywhere near. Strange. Perhaps some interior decorating preparations for a family of beavers? ;)

PP: scanned from 35mm, sharpened a little, framed, resized.

to give more depth to the colour. Then added the frame and sharpened for uploading. Hope you like it - it's just a different viewpoint.
Cheers Joan
