During our visit at the Trolley museum, we took a 6km ride in a restored electric train and the conductor explained to me the complex technology required to stop the train in case of emergency...

first, you have the bell button on the floor then you rotate the break handle to stop the train (impressive technology... isn't it? ;o)) In the corner, the is a state-of-the-art sand bucket... so, during winter, on icy rails, if the break remain useless, the conductor pull the emergency handle which activate a complex mechanism (lol)that spread sand on the rails just in front of the trucks ... Easy, isn't it?

I wonder why we dont have sand breaking system in our automobile ...

WS: if my 'scientific' explanation is not enough, I have posted a 'map' in the WS ;o)

PP: turned to sepia, added noise, fitler cracks, noise again, level... framed, resized for TL
