(312) | 29 Ekim Cumhuriyet Bayramı nedeniyle Türkiye Dağcılık Federasyonunun Erciyes Dağı Tırmanışı.
We went to Erciyes Mountain yesterday. The weather was cold and foggy. We walked 80 people.
Erciyes Dagi (3916 m.), the highest peak of the Central Anatolia rises at 25 km. south of Kayseri city. The peak of the mountain, an extinct volcano, is covered with stable snow at every season of the year. At the northern region of the mountain, there is a 1 km long glacier. The ski resort is at the Tekir Plateau which is at the northern slopes of the mountain. Erciyes is one of the most important mountains of the country for mountaineering sport other than being a skiing resort.
Arrival One can reach to the skiing resort from the nearest airport (Kayseri-Erkilet) in 40 minutes with bus and in 30 minutes from the city center. The arrival to the skiing resort from the Kayseri city center is possible by private vehicles. Also most of the hotels organize services to the skiing centers for their visitors. |
