This past weekend was a much needed Thanksgiving break for all those who are in school (such as me). It was a time of thanks, foods, family, friends, and photos. On Saturday night, fellow TL member akula802 (my buddy from high school) and I broke out our respective cameras for the first time in quite a while due to school and work obligations.

We ventured to downtown St. Paul to Rice Park to shoot the 60 foot plus Christmas tree and lights. As this kind of subject is not normally either of our forte, we soon started to look for other things in the area to also shoot. This bench caught my eye not only because of the repetition but also due to the reflection of the city lights.

After a few hours of shooting we headed back to the suburbs and also back to reality. School and work awaited us both on Monday.

This is a cropped version of the original photo (which I will post as a workshop, check it out and let me know which works better). I cropped it long because I thought it matched the shape of the benches better, and I wanted a chance to add a "widescreen" frame like I have seen and liked on other TL member's photos in the past.

Adjusted levels, cropped, and added black borders in PS7. Comment, critiques, and workshops are always welcome; thanks for looking and reading.
