This is a photo I took during this lovely ladies wedding. I was one of two photographers capturing this beautiful day. This was my first wedding to photograph since I started actually creating an income with my camera.

On this day I felt it was very important to keep myself as invisible as possible. I wanted to capture real moments and not the typical posed wedding shots. In trying to achieve this seemingly impossible task, I ended up resorting to using my telephoto lens so that I could be a great distance away from the subject I was shooting. I wanted photos that truly reflected the moment.

With all the activity of the wedding party and guests I was able to sneak around behind trees and capture people in a true moment. For this photo I was watching the bride from behind some rose bushes and just kept watching her move to a place away from everyone gathering for the start of the ceremony. Once she was alone I started shooting with my camera set on black and white. Her mood and the way she moved and the feeling of complete serenity was so overwhelming that I almost forgot to start shooting. I was able to take some wonderful photos not necessarily technically correct and I really didn't care about all that. I knew that with my camera all I had to do was just start shooting and I would get more than good photos.

My favorite part of the photos I took for this wedding are that most of them were not posed shots. I liked that the moments I captured were true memories that the bride and groom would look at and say...."I don't remember the posing for that photo."

I think that if I were to give any advice to other photographers, that in my opinion we tend to get caught up in all the technical stuff with our cameras that sometimes we just have to forget all that and just be in the moment and actually feel the experience. I am not saying that being technically adept with our cameras should go away. In my own experience I have found that I have become a better photographer and some of my best work has come from just being in the moment.

Hi Bettina, To unsaturate, I used a B&W converfter filter, used unsharpen mask to sharpe, adjuster contrast, reduced brightness from general area, and gave it a shapia tint.
What do you think please?
