 T-6 Texans (18) jmirah
(291) | I photographed these planes during the Spirit of Flight Airshow on April 29, 2007. Organized by the Lone Star Flight Museum and held at Galveston International Airport, it was a tribute to the Doolittle Raiders. On April 18, 1942, 80 aviators(13 Texans) flying B-25 bombers led the first American air raid on the Japanese Islands. 16 bombers, led by Lt Colonel James A. Doolittle of the US Army Air Corps, took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, attacked targets in Japan then crash landed in China. These planes, I believe to be T-6 Texans, where part of the show.
