This is one of the beautiful homes near downtown Savannah, Georgia. My wife, mother, and I were vacationing there a couple of years ago and were just walking through the neighborhoods admiring the historic architecture. I liked the home especially for the ivy covering the front.

Rather than just post a straight photo of it, I experimented with a technique I found here, by Richard Juneau (richardj7) and specifically his "Small Church Quebec City" post. I was inspired by his "partially completed" artwork, and since he was kind enough to include his workflow, I was able to emulate what he had done.

I am intrigued by the technique, and am eager to practice and experiment with it. I've been looking for a good "sketch" action, but too many of them are too automatic and don't allow for customization. Richard's technique affords plenty of creativity and tweaking.

I've posted the original as a workshop.

Let me know what you think!

This is the original from which the sketch was made. Before I made the sketch, I cloned out the cell tower in the background and adjusted the levels slightly.
