We are here in the Bazar, a huge and nice shopping mall in Istanbul. Date: May 19 !
19th May is designated as the “Official Youth Day” of Turkey.
The day has a symbolic value for youth in Turkey since it is the present of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Kemal Ataturk to young people to whom he commended the Republic.
Everywhere we noticed youngsters .. nicely dressed in
sports clothing or there ' best gear '
Also talked with four young students .. about many things, but for that you have to open my WorkShop.
Istanbul, go and see it Folks !!

An extra view on May 19

On this day, May 19, our last day .. we sat on a Restaurant terrace, close to the Aya Sofia.. and a few tables away I noticed this nice group of
young students...looking a little curious to us now and than.
After my coffee I walked to there table and in English after my good morning, I had a nice talk with this four.
Three belong to a high school and the young man on left in is first year of University.
Of course the question came from them .. from where I came and 'Holland' had a good
impact I think. We spoke about traveling .. what my view was on Turkey ( which is very good) my camera..what I was doing for a living ..etc etc..
We parted as good friends.. and all four came to the table to also shake hands with the other 11 Dutch in my group and they wished us a nice time
and safe home flight!
Refreshing and spontaneous those four .. that we all agreed on!
Istanbul, we will be back!
