Trojan horse? No, Wood Anemone (50) AdrianW
(307) | OK, first up, I apologise for the title. I can't resist bad puns ;-) For those of you who haven't got it yet, Wooden enemy = Wood Anemone, told you it was bad didn't I!
To me Spring in the UK is all about wildflowers and the Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) is one of the signs that Spring is in full swing. This delicate little flower (also known as the Windflower because it blows around so much) usually grows in woodland and precedes our Bluebells.
In this case the specimen involved was growing in our back garden! I suspect that our garden was (at some point) part of a deciduous woodland because we also have a fair colony of primroses and bluebells - species that tend to grow on the woodland floor. Our primroses are also looking good, and the bluebells are growing but they haven't come into bud yet so it'll be a while before I can show you any pictures of those!
There's a thread about the processing of this shot, and basically about my current workflow here if you're interested! |
