(527) Quad toning Edited by:Dpbours

Hi David,
You either love sepia, or you don't.... ;-)
I love quad toning. Here it goes:
You convert a shot to greyscale, so not just a black and white in RGB mode. In this case I first did an increase in shadows of 5%
Then changed the mode to Greyscale and after that opened the Mode - Duotone menu. Here I selected the option to use quad tones and in your Photoshop you will find pre-defined settings. I loaded the 3rd setting of the Pantone Quadtones and this is the result.
To give it that old feel, I opened the plugin 'Virtual Photographer'. Look on the internet, it's freeware!! Here you can set the type of film and the plugin adds grain for that film. This is an ISO400 B/W film.
Then after that a smart sharpen of 12% at 2 pixel radius and a frame added with the canvas option (2pix black, then 96 pix white, then 2 pix black.)
Hope you like the result! |
