(Photo taken in "Yayla karakolu" - no other name for this big summer settlement).

Today's post is about how close the domestic animals are to the people in east Turkey.

Some photos could appear comic to us ; it is just normal there, whereas people there think that keeping a dog inside a house looks very strange and unhealthy... My intention is of course not to tell how archaic conditions are there, and again, life in the yaylas (summer pasture at high altitude) is hard and not comfortable, but this is only for 2 or 3 months each year !

Then, there are other examples :
a cat and a chicken inside a house,
a veal inside a yayla with the girl in yellow that you have already met before,
another veal in another house,
or a Turkish turkey alife in a kitchen...

(FYI), a photo to show how close animals can come inside living headquarters.

this photo was taken during another travel in east Turkey, near Horasan ; I had posted it on TE a while ago, when I had not learnt to sharpen my photos... for more explanations, you can read the whole story here.
