Wings Over the Water (78)

This past weekend, the weather was perfect for the CNE (the Canadian National Exhibition) in Toronto. The fair has been held in the last two weeks of August for 128 years now and the last three days are marked by a well-attended Air Show.

Over the coming weeks, I may add some other air show shots to the gallery, but I thought I'd start with this heritage plane.
This little beauty is the 1943 Stock Stearman, flown by John Mohr a commercial pilot who collects vintage planes. The plumes in the background are from the ever-watchful Fire Rescue boat.

The little plane was very close to the water when I shot this and I happened to be crossing a pedestrian bridge over the road so that the Stearman was actually below me. In fact, we were not allowed to stand on the bridge to take photos. I simply crossed and recrossed that bridge many times, pausing briefly to take a shot or two. It got to the point that I could joke with the police officers keeping the bridge clear. I offered to trade clothes so they could go sit in the shade :D

Tech: shot in RAW, converted to jpg, cropped, resized, sharpened edges, signed and framed

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day
