Hello Rebekah
Just to give you an idea of how you might improve even your old shots, I did this little workshop for you.
First of all, I cloned out the date (covering up the numbers with samples of leaf from close by). Then I cropped it, but decided against cropping to the "Rule of Thirds" because your focus is on the leaf, not the flower and I wanted to keep something sharp in the picture. Then I sharpened it several times, finally added a frame and your signature
