![Gold Star Critiquer/Silver Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 398 W: 18 N: 426]](http://i1.treklens.com/misc/g-s-g.gif) (2659) | This my B&W rendition of the Avon River which is a unique part of Christchurch City as it sustains a diverse plant and animal life and is a source of many recreational activities. It creates a soothing tranquility meandering through the heart of city.
I used PhotoShop CS2 for converting the original color image. I've posted the original color image in the Workshop if you want to create your own B&W version. Here are the post processing steps I used;
1) Convert to grayscale ... Image -> Mode -> Grayscale
2) So as not to overblown the sky, I first selected the clouds and sky. Then I inverse it so I can just process the trees and river.
3) Using the Brightness/Contrast function I then adjusted the brightness and contrast of the trees and river. Actually, I was experimenting in trying to achieve an 'infrared' look. |
