~Lost In Maine~ (27)

This was taken a few months ago when we where still in the grasp of Old Man Winter....
While everyone enjoyed a day of skiing I took off for a few hours with my camera... Heading out of Bethel, Maine... I was going to try to post a panoramic.. NO luck I really have to figure out how to line one up correctly while shooting.. I have the SW but it always ends up looking funny!
Shot in Raw made some minor adjustments.. converted to jpeg sharpened, auto color correct.. cropped out a tree on the left and the dirty snow bank on the bottom!
Any tips on taking landscape shots ... greatly appreciated..

Hi Tricia,
I love Maine! Can't wait to get up there to get some good seafood, around here they THINK they have seafoood but its Lake Perch!!
Anyhow for the panoramics get yourself a photostitch program its a hoot! You take some shots (lined up the best you can) then the program just magicaly hitches them together, you do need to do some editing afterwards but the program is awesome.
I played with your photo a bit myself as I haven't had a chance to take any photos myself in weeks and I miss playing with my paintshop!
I tilted the photo to the left a tad as it seemed to me it was leaning a bit, then warmed the colors a little to remove some of the blue from the landscape, decreased the color saturation about 5% and added a about 10 contrast.
I love those clouds!
Hope you don't mind me playing!
I bet you had a great time up there!

... in order to obtain a stronger impression of horizontality and of space + to compensate for the lack of a natural foreground. I think this version makes us feel a little more IN the landscape.
Just a try... ;o)
Kind regards,
Erik
