Top of FLop? (Do or Don't?) (23) joopschotsman
(5393) | This is a view on the ferry which can be found on the Braasemermeer (lake). It helps you to the other side.
What do you think: is this photo okay or not?
To answer this, look in the workshop, in which I uploaded the original image.
It was a boring exposure. I copied the image to a layer and multiplied it. Then I repeated this, resulting in this image.
Much more sky, isn't it? I couldn't believe this was actualy IN the original image.
But what about the end-result? Does it has an 'over processed' look now? |

I started with cutting off the bottom to get it more in line with the rule of thirds.
Then a contrast / saturation and brightness layer, but opacity of that layer only on the boats and houses, not on the greens.
Then curves, setting black and white points.
Velvia vision for some more balanced colours.
Noise Ninja for some noise reduction on the sky.
Last a bit of unsharp masking towards light and dark.
I have to say I'm not thát pleased with the result. The clouds and water look better to me, but the white sides of the roof still look too harsh to me. |
