A Simple Historical Church (62) Silke
(23588) | Oakville closes its main street once a year for the better part of three days for a Jazz Festival with the result that one can finally get pictures of some of the old buildings in this historic town without having to dodge cars :).
And I was doubly lucky - the rain that was predicted for the Jazz Festival never materialized. Instead, the weather was perfect, with a sky so blue that no filters or colour saturation could have improved upon it. AS to the people - since I wanted to leave the little jazz stage in front of the church intact, I decided to leave all the people in too - for it is good to see life around a church :).
Knox Presbyterian Church is 120 years old, the present building having been dedicated on May 20, 1888.
Tech: Captured in raw at f/7.1 to put foreground and background slightly oof (focal point was bell tower, just above tree); adjusted contrast in raw with PhotoShop CS2, converted to jpg, resized, sharpened, framed and signed
Workshop: The unframed version has been posted to a workshop -- I would love to know what your preferences are in this :)
Thanks for looking and for all your critiques, workshops and suggestions. Have a healthy, happy, and safe weekend. |

I opened it it Photofiltre and cropped a bit from the left to off center the spire, lightened it with a touch of gamma, resized it, sharpened edges, and added a smaller frame using the color picker to get matching colors from the photo. Hope you find it helpful.
