Workshop Note
(=>>> next : one local style of traditional chimneys seen from outside)
There used to be a big fireplace there, under the old chimney that has been covered (see the ceiling) ; now an oven has been placed with traditional "ibrikler" on top of it to heat the water, an armchair facing it to sit in the warmth.
The oven is also used to cook bread or to prepare the "peynir eritmesi", delicious melted cheese accompanying meals and eaten with bread.
(NB : in these traditional houses, at least in east Turkey, there is not one specific kitchen as we see it in the west : there is often such an oven outside too, the cooking is done sometimes on an old fireplace (like here, somewhere else in Anatolia !) while utensils etc. are yet in another room (like here, same family in east Anatolia)).
