Autumnal colours of a house in Bath.... (42)

Greetings and a happy Sunday to all...

My friend, Tricia’s house, in Widcombe, Bath, taken last autumn. The Virginia Creeper vines on the house were really red, and added such zest to this venerable old house,a real English classic.

I liked the effect of the vines covering the whole house. Not sure it is a great idea for the stucco, as the tendrils and rootlets grow so fast and get into the tiniest nook and cranny and thus could crack the stucco and also let in water.

This is a lovely old house, full of character, with lots of nooks and crannies, so the vines and ivy are very fitting. The walls of the house are really thick with leaded pane windows. In the WS I show a shot of both.
The house is on the National Registry so any changes and improvements are time consuming and costly.
PP work
This image was taken on my trusty, and now retired Pentax. For some reason the image was really washed out and unusable. I ran it through Lightroom and what a difference. Great program for resurrecting shots.

Pay no mind to the OE, which is really over exposed.
This house has so much character; I wanted to show the depth of the walls and the leaded pane windows.
