this is a repost
since yesterday, I less lazy than usual with the PP... about the original post, it was just desaturation
now this one is done following some of the useful critiques
PP :
- little rotation, but keep the left part which avoid to get the girl too much in the corner
- layer mask on the girl (level brighter)
- color range, select dark tones, create a new layer with this selection, +100% contrast and -150% brightness
- BG layer: change level, apply a copy of the green channel with more noise (blending with multiply)

Hi Jean, it was a very difficult image for B&W conversion and am not sure it's much improved if any.
firstly I cropped a little from the top so the OE sky was not too much a distraction and also a little from the right side of the frame as a bag was showing hanging from a post. I resized, and converted to B&W via channels, I used setting +60 on the blue and +40 on the red and -5 on constant, I was a little dissapointed that the sliders sis'nt make too much of a difference, however, I duplicated layer and used overlay and opacity at around 30%, finally a little burning on the walls in the foreground to give it a darker gloomier type look and a little dodging on the lady in the foreground. Oh and a trademark white border, sometimes I feel a white border brings out the tones even more in a B&W conversion. Hope you like it Jean.

regards Dean.
