time for the Good Oil (2)

Everyone tells me this would be improved by adding a drop of oil to the spout but I don't know how to go about it. Any ideas? I just took the image because I liked the colours

Oil Drops

More to adding oil drops in than I first thought....

Found a water drop picture of my own, selected some of the droplets, pasted into a new picture, converted to b&w, inverted them and played with levels to turn into black drops with a shine

Copied and pasted into the picture, adding lots in to accentuate the effect (I think too many!)

Decided to add a puddle in - created a new layer, filled in a black oval, used a filter to create ripples, then distorted the perspective to make it semi realistic.

Used another water drop picture to create a "spire" bouncing up from the surface, using the same process as for the droplets.

Probably took about 20 minutes all in to create this - taking longer the puddle could be a lot more realistic and the drops and puddle given a colour sheen to make them more like oil.
