| Look at that pile of fried chicken on the plate there! It looks like they got the 20 piece family platter. It was a workday, so there are no "40's" on the table. Don't know what a "40" is? Well, it is a popular thing in Memphis, even for breakfast in some circles - it is a forty-ounce bottle of beer. Most eating establishments have them, unless they are too high class for such nonsense. Of course, a 40 ounce bottle of beer, to be affordable, cannot be the best of beers. Perhaps Pabst Blue Ribbon or Stag or some other domestic product that, for me, would be hard to choke down 40 ounces of - especially at 8:30 in the morning... |
