Today is the first anniversary of my registration on TrekLens. One year ago, soon after registration, I became a daily user. It’s unbelivable that one year has gone so fast, although I have posted over 300 images and written over 5000 critiques, I still consider myself as ’new’ on this site.
It’s a great photography site, during this year I have learned so much about taking pictures, and adjusting images with PC softwares. I tried out a lot of new things like creating miniatures, antique images, photographing landscapes, bulings, minimalist compositions and many more… I appriciate and thank you for all of your help and support I’ve recived.
Finally, I have to say a special thanks to Janos, he’s my neighbour in Budapest and a good friend, he was the one who introduced me this site one year ago and told me to registrate. Unfortunately, these days he’s not quite active on TrekLens, but he is a great photographer and his gallery is surely worth a visit.

So I would like to celebrate this one-year-milestone with this old guy on the photo captured in a Florida wildlife conservation centre (called Parrot Jungle) in 2001. It was among my first digital pictures.

Have a nice day!

layers, contrasts

Hi Kristof,
as mentioned in my critique the turtle looks a bit pale. I tried to change this by increasing contrasts and reducing brightness in several steps with selecting only parts of the image. After finishing I selected the whole turtle to put it back as a new layer into the original image. Finally I added a frame to put more emphasize on the turtle's head instead of the tortoise shell.
I hope you like this altered version of your image and don't mind me playing around again with one of your images.
Thanks again for sharing it. Wish you all the best and enjoy all the years coming here on TL.
Kindest regards, Britta
