 Inverness Castle (18) Jonela
(2759) | Inverness Castle sits on a cliff overlooking the River Ness, in Inverness, Scotland. The red sand stone structure evident today was built in 1836 by architect William Burn. It is built on the site of an 11th century defensive structure. Today, it houses Inverness Sheriff Court. There has been a castle at this site for many centuries.
My son Gregor and his band are playing at two festivals this week( GoNorth and Rockness) so my wife and I decided to got to the most accessible one at Go North, this year held at Inverness. We were only there for two nights and would have liked to stay longer.
This is the Castle at Inverness taken from over the river near the Cathedral and taken in between heavy showers but within twenty mins the rain departed and it was glorious for the rest of the day.
