Medicine Bow Vista (1)

I recently drove my daughter to college in California, traversing new trails for both of us. We saw many places of rugged, raw, untrammeled beauty, but Wyoming proved high on the list of favorites. The trip from Wisconsin took four days -- and I would have savored about four months, were time and money no object.

This one was taken in the Medicine Bow National Forest, just east of Laramie. The sky was astonishingly blue (no need for the polarizer on this day!), and the mountains breathtaking.

We said, "Wow!" so incessantly, that it's hard to pick any one favorite, let alone do it justice. I'm sure there'll be more to follow, here and likely the other Treks, too.

PP was limited to converting from RAW with Canon's Raw Image Task, including medium sharpening, and then sizing to TL specifications in Paint.Net.

I went back to the image as Niek advised and did an auto-levels correction. I experimented with adjusting the reds, but liked the fidelity better when I left them alone. Generally, I agree with Niek's point about a clear subject, but in this case, in my opinion, the whole landscape is the subject. So I left cropping and the like alone. I'd be interested in your feedback.
