This was my first attempt to do a self photo while holding the camera myself. Except for my looks, it worked out fairly well, I think...

Purpose was to bring out more charachter and make it B&W.
First made it Black & White by adding a gradiant layer. Then i incressed contrsat and brightness with +6 (both). I did this to bring out the charachter of the face.
Only adding the gradiant layer for B&W conversion made the photo a bit flat so i decided to try and make it more intresting agan. Did this by playing with levels. Set the Reda chanell to 0: 1,26 : 255. Green was left un changed and blue was set to 0: 0,97: 255. RGB was set to 0: 1,10: 248. Then i flattened the image and duplcated the layer. Set the blend mode to Soft light and opacity to 50%. On this layer i added some rendered light.
As a last stage i flattened the image again and sharpend it by using the high pass filter. This can be done by setting the blend mode to either overlay or soft light. The amount of sharpening is the determained by the opacity of this layer.
Hope you like it

Removed some distractions by setting red to 100%, green 0% and blue 0%
