 Horrible architecture (18) Dingo
(11948) | This 'architectural experiment' stands near the river Schelde, in the heart of Antwerpen. In the front part, you can see the slope of the entrance to the "Steen", a medieval castle. To the left and the right are more or less modern buildings (read : fairly new), that try to uphold a somewhat classical style. Architect and builder of this building didn't bother about that. I think it is an attractive building, but it does not belong in this environment.
The circles on the building appeared after the resizing of the picture. Does anyone have an idea on how this can be avoided ? |

tilted the pic 1,2 °CW
cropped with perpective on the lower left side (pulled out the handler for about 2 cm ), a little to much to show you the effect..
cropping with perpective " just mark to the left of perpective on the cropping toolbar " in ps7

(11948) Nice & Slow! Edited by:Dingo
(11948) |
First of all, a big THANK YOU! to Zandra, and to Marie & Richard for putting me in the right direction.
I used Zandra's tip to downsize this image in steps, and to sharpen between these steps. The original image's size is 2288 x 1712.
I downsized in 4 steps : 1800, 1450, 1100 and finally 800. After each step I sharpened 5 %.
At first I used MS PictureIt's USM, but discarded the result because I ended up with an oversharpened fence in the bottom.
Finally I cropped a bit from the bottom.
I think a 1-step downgrade is very useful for most pictures, but when the result is disappointing I'll be going for... nice & slow, again!!
Another lesson learnt : thanks Zandra, Marie & Richard. |
