|Admittedly not the cutest animal i have come across during my safaris in Southern Africa , indeed neither graceful nor beautiful still the warthog is a remarkable animal, here is some brief information about this unique animal : |
Although warthogs can dig their own furrows they usually occupy abandomned ones of other animals, interestingly a warthog will enter the furrow back-end first with head facing the opening in case it has to burst out as needed. These animals can run pretty fast and are very good jumpers too ! Warthogs are often seen running with their tails in the air, a most endearing habit and a really cute moment when one has the chance to see them do, they have a poor eyesight but their excellent sense of smell will help them locate their food , detect predators and recognize other animals. Cheetahs , lions, crocodiles , leopards and hyenas are their main predators however warthogs have been reported as capable of inflicting serious, even deadly wounds to a lion . Piglets are born in liters of two to eight and lastly they usually live in family groups known as "sounders" which include a boar , a sow and three or four young.

Hi Carol ,
Well its strange looking animal for me its first time..
your shot is good from framing POV but may be in my humble opinion the shades one left side of the first warthog and the others as well got black which lessen its details, but since you were in safari it is difficult to have some reflector to get the details.
Boa tarde Carol
Good placement of all the members of this family. They are not specialy cute but there is always a good moment to feel family together. Great sharpness, good colors and very well framed.
A good nature photo with animals.
