************** HELLO TL MEMBERS **************

LOCATION: OFF THE COAST OF MAURITIUS ISLAND
MOOD: AT ANCHOR WAITING FOR BUNKERS
COORDINATES: ACCURATE SEE THE MAP

DESCRIPTION:
While we were en-route from Fujairah, U.A.E., to Rosario, Argentina, we had to take bunkers (Heavy Fuel Oil) from the Mauritius Island since it was a long voyage of One Month. The picture in view is of an Oil Tanker, M.T. Anawan. The ship was empty (Ballast Condition) and we were going to load Vegetable Oil from Argentina and Brazil.
That was a very fine evening with the cool breeze blowing of force 2 to 3. As it was the start of winters in Southern Hemisphere it was very lovely weather at that time.

NOTE: THE CAMERA WAS NOT MINE BUT THE SHOT AND POV IS MINE

ABOUT MAURITIUS ISLAND:

Mauritius (pronounced /məˈrɪʃəs/; French: L’île Maurice pronounced: [lil mɔˈʁis], Mauritian Creole: Moris) officially the Republic of Mauritius, French: République de Maurice is an island nation off the coast of the African continent in the southwest Indian Ocean, about 900 kilometres (560 mi) east of Madagascar. In addition to the island of Mauritius, the Republic includes the islands of Cargados Carajos, Rodrigues and the Agalega Islands. Mauritius is part of the Mascarene Islands, with the French island of Réunion 200 km (120 mi) to the southwest and the island of Rodrigues 570 km (350 mi) to the northeast.

The island of Mauritius is renowned for having been the only known home of the dodo. First sighted by Europeans around 1600 on Mauritius, the dodo became extinct less than eighty years later.

Hi Ali,

You got a beautiful sky with perfect mood!

Great moutains with perfect view over the waters. The use of the natural light could be better but it is reasonable as it wasn't your camera :)

Overall, a wonderful work!

best regards,
Paras

Hi Ali,

A nice off-shore shot of the port city and surrounding mountains. The lighting contrasts are interesting and since this was a borrowed camera on auto there's not too much to say about using different settings. A good documentary shot of your travels, TFS.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Ali,
A marvelous skyline of the island of Mauritius with marvelous mountains serving as a natural BG.
The sky is outstanding in the picture and light is just adequate for this panorama!
Nice POV, I suppose, from the ship, which is very interesting like your former posts.
Good work, my friend.
best regards,

Francis Xavier

Hello my dear friend Ali!

I've been busy all day. Whewww, I'm ready for a break.

This is a very nice photo my friend. Excellent POV and composition. I like the look of the clouds! This would make a great HDR photo.

Excellent note too! I didn't know this about the dodo bird. Not sure I even knew the dodo was real.

Thank you for sharing this, my friend!

Dennis

Bom dia Ali,
The property of the camera has not importance. :o).
Important is your shot, rich of good detail (e. g. the light over the mountain), a great POV and carefuly sharpness captured.
TFS,
Raimundo
