These are examples of the largest water lily on earth...Victoria amazonica, native to the amazon basin. It thrives in tropical climates and can attain 3 m in diameter. The bird is a green-backed bittern (heron) native to Mauritius. Both call home the world-reknowned
Pampelmousse Botanical Garden, the finest tropical garden in the world. A trip to Mauritius should definitely include a visit.

These water Lilies as large indeed Michael,& with the inclusion of the bird, we get a good feel for the scale of them.

As lily pads go,....its a whopper.
Neat touch with the addition taking a stroll.
