|Agadir is a port on the south coast of Morocco... also, in the past, called Mogador by the Portuguese. Agadir is a Berber word meaning fortified granary. It was leveled by a horrendous earthquake in 1960 which killed over 15000.|
It has been rebuilt 2 km south of the former city and now has a population of about 700000. Blessed by a fabulous wide beach, warm climate, and 360 days of sunshine annually, it has become a haven for northern Europeans seeking a tan in January.
