I believe every body who is in Marrakesh is invited to take tea in a real berbere house. You can accept or not...I like tea and they do it well. The house had no doors and in front of me there was this kitchen. The woman you see in the foto enter to wash something. Everybody was speaking about the good tea, bread, butter and honey on the table... life there was still simples. The red nails of the woman who made the tea and the black eyelinear increased the woman sensuality already visble in her gestures. Later in that day I would buy argan oil to the the skin in a Cooperative of cosmetic where just women worked. Women are full of secrets wherever they live. The beauty is more in the silence than in the words, sometimes...

Óla Teresa,

Another strong addition to your picture gallery!
I like the immense mood and color tones you have got here.
Light and exposure are just brilliant and details are well shown.
I admire the note attached to this picture, indeed thanks for that.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful work!

Um abracos,
Paras

Good shot of daily life in Marrakesh Teresa with an interesting note. The b/w shows mystery and sensuality in this image as we only see the back of the woman and can only guess what she is doing from your title. The textures in the stonework add atmosphere to the surroundings.

Joy

Nice composition and tones, strong punchy contrast.
Subject matter is simple, but very pleasing and eye-catching with a strong story to it.
Excellent use of available light coming in from the right.

Difficult conditions I know, but I can't help thinking to myself this would be so much better if it were a tad sharper.

I know you were right down to 1/25 at 400 ISO, but I reckon if you'd upped the ISO another notch just to get a faster shutter speed at the same aperture, you'd have prevented that very slight camera shake which is ever so much more noticeable in monochrome.
A marginal flaw however and I still do like the shot, especially the idea and composition.

Cheers,

Martin

Ola Teresa , just as i check the gallery there you are with a new photo from Morocco !
Good use of black and white for this type of scene, as a viewer i like to get close to the main subject here i am within her own space i might add the very location where she stands is from this angle seemingly a bit cramped/confined ( i know most places in the medina must be that way .. ) yet i want to know what's to her right towards the light and where the steps in the FG lead away to , the door to her left opens on the dimly lit kitchen , oh well i would wait to be invited in , hey hey !
Thank you my dear for sharing the little story and showing the viewer a more intimate side of Marrakech ,
take care ,
Um abraço ,
Carol

Hello Teresa.

Words found to understand the point of giving...

You have to give before you get.
You must plant your seeds before you reap the harvest.
The more you sow, the more you'll reap.
In giving to others, you'll find yourself blessed.
The law works to give you back more than you have sown.
The giver's harvest is always full.
Those that obtain have little.
Those who scatter have much.
Nature does not give to those who will not spend.

Once more you delight us with an image to gorge over, the thoughts and words felt from the lady preparing to give he friends are plentiful.

Strong emotions felt we cannot ignore.
A pleasure to view this Teresa.

Bom dia teresa
a good shot of a simple scene yet interesting and curious. a clear spot and quick stop in time in a woman's daily tasks, full of secrets and hopes. an artistic picture of mood. thoughtful title & note.

Your composition really "draws" us into this daily life scene and into this woman's secrets, Teresa. Moreover, you achieved an adequate depth of field, that also helps to make the woman very "present" to us, the viewers. The B&W-conversion with strong but well-balanced contrasts creates a strong mood of (inner?) stillness.
TFS & warm regards,
Erik

bonsoir Teresa

Greetings Teresa,
Thank you for allowing me into this ladies home,I think at times I may take to much for granted living in my part of the world.I like the mood of this B&W,I wondered what the wall hanging was,I thought at first, perhaps a woven basket, but I'm not sure that is correct? To me this appears as though it was an image from the 1940's with so much bare concrete visible
You have handled the natural light very well.If it were possible to add an item to this scene,I would ask for a mirror above the ladies sink area,so that I could see her reflection.
Well taken,TFS
Always,best wishes.
Ron

Hi Teresa,

Hello Dear Teresa :)

Has this woman from Morocco the secrets, how each of us, and what he has the dreams?
Fascinating picture under every regard, and I will always recognize Your perfect realization :)
Congratulations!!!

With best wishes.
Barbara.

Hello Theresa,
Yes, there certainly is much of an element of mystery to this shot which, together with the overall quality and composition, renders it comparable to the work of the old Masters. And that is a mouthfull! The lighting is superb and the various elements are placed in just the right places...the circular object in the upper left, the bright pattern on her back, the light streaming in from the right and even her heels ... all of it framed by a window sill? What a beautiful image!

Hello, strong and meaningful composition with beautiful textures throughout.Friendly regards,Otto.

Hi Teresa
i don't know how I missed this one from you. We also went for tea in a Beber house in a village in atlas mountains. We may have been in the same house. Only place in Morocco that we were literally swamped by people trying to sell touristy stuff by force. the village was fascinating to visit.

I like this B&W image. Good tight crop and the vertical format works well here. Nice range of tones. good work.

Ola Teresa,

I agree with you, women is attributed with beauty and beauty has a lot of secrets. In the university we had some Arab girls and I wonder why they'd do heavy make up on eyes. Perhaps, it's their identity - a secret which only other women can read.

Your composition in monochrome is wonderful, like always. A beautiful moment has been captured in this scene. The spectrum of grey is fantastic. Well done my friend. Thanks for sharing.

Kind Regards,
Inaam

Boa tarde Teresa,
Imperdoavel que só agora eu tenha visto essa sua imagem, tão forte e tão marcante.
Alivia a minha culpa o saber que as grandes obras são perenes.
