[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tin Mal (also Tinmel) is a small mountain village in the High Atlas at 100 km of Marrakech, Morocco. It is considered the cradle of the Almohad empire from where they started their military campaigns against the Almoravids in early 12th century.
The Tin Mal Mosque is a mosque located in the High Atlas mountains of North Africa. It was built in 1156 to commemorate the founder of the Almohad dynasty, Mohamed Ibn Tumart. It is one of the two mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims, the other being the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. The prototype for the Tin Mal mosque was the Great Mosque of Taza (near Fs), also built by Abd al-Mu'min. The Koutoubia in Marrakech was in its turn modelled on it.

Beautiful shot with so nice colors and details. Nice light and tones.

Hi Mariana,
A wonderful perspective with a huge contrast and nice warm colours of the bricks. A shame it's slanted and the bright sunny patches are a bit overexposed. Made a WS were I changed those items. Anyway a fine post!

Hello Mariana,

I was browsing your photos and this one popped up :-)
I like the general atmosphere and the special light and I " don't " mind
the OE parts because they form a pattern.

" But " ...
( don't take this personally : I always speak my mind hihi )

First you should try to level the photo : you see that the structure is going to the right.
Don't know what photo editor you use, but that can be fixed.

Secondly take a bit more time before pressing the button :
( otherwise you'll find yourself in the same situation as me with my " crisis in France " ... )
this one you took from left to right, not in the middle of that space
IMO you can't fix that.
Pitty ! Because then it would be a great example of " repetition " also.

Did you consider it as a black-and-white candidate ?
Why ?
Lines, bricks, those OE parts and a overhall orange colour.
Just a matter of taste or what you want to tell

TFS Mariana

Greetings
Jan

Hello Mariana, very impressive architectural shot, good light and colors. Good note too, thanks!

Mario

"Recursivity" could be another title for this picture :)
I like these orange tones. Regarding to the burning light, this mosque seems to be a good shelter :)

Wow.. this is really beautiful Mariana.
I love the colors and the atmosphere of the light here and the repetitive pilars.
I do think it's a little tilted....

I wish a lovely Christmas for you and your family Mariana... and a sharp and colorful 2010!

Cheers,
Anneke

Perfect compo from a well chosen pov; great sharpness and nice warm colors. Love the symmetry; I only would have tilted the photo about 1 degree to the left.

Regards,
Henri

lovely place, the tilt spoil the composition
interesting note, i learn that there is only two mosques opened for non Muslims, i wonder if it is the same in France, haha
cheers

Hi Mariana, Good image with gorgeous colours. The arches are an ideal subject which looks good from the POV you have chosen. Perhaps a slight tilt to the right but it doesn't detract. TFS. Murray.

I really like the repitition of shapes here and the vivid colors. Slight tilt detracts a bit, but still a very interesting image.
Thanks,
Wilt
