Thirsty

A thirsty zebra refreshes itself at the pond in the Etosha National Park and game reserve in north Namibia. It took quite an effort to spot this single zebra, there were hundreds of them at pool in the same time. Anyway it was an awesome view to watch these animals drinking.

Did you know the sound of the zebra is exactly the same as a barking dog and think they are with hundreds barking at the same time, which you could hear from miles away. A spectacular experience.

PP work: shot in Raw, adjusted contrast and brightness, converted to jpeg, adjusted levels and curves, cropped, sharpened and add frame.

100s barking dogs sound at the same time errrr.... hurt my ears =)

Good capture, i like how he has appeared half from above the pool giving a nice wavy reflection.

I'd have cropped it in panoramic view for more punch :)

Hello Hans, nothing can beat the view of a hundred of these animals stamping around a waterhole. it is a fantastic experience to be there with a zoom lens to capture the herd which can be impressive by the sheer number , on the other hand a single beast as here half-submerged is something to behold , sharp and clear , a wee bit more contrast to bring out some of the black would benifit this shot i think , this would make a great shot in B&W too, good work man,

PD - la imagen de Trondheim esta realizada con una camara compacta y no podia hacer muchas variaciones , no es como las reflex que te permiten modificar aperturas etc
