[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Kingfishers perch in an upright stance, are large-headed, short-necked and have long, stout bills. They belong to the order Coraciiformes and are related to bee-eaters and rollers. In flight, kingfishers are speedy and direct, rarely flying above tree level. When hunting for fish, the Kingfisher plunge head first towards the water and return to a perch to kill and eat their prey. Kingfishers normally sleep in some kind of tunnel or hole.

Nice still shot of the bird. Here the wood has given attraction to the total pic.

Lovely texture in the wood. exposure on the bird is good and not over-exposed anywhere. Personally I would have preferred a darker background but when you are in nature you need to do the best with what is available.

Hi Rolanda

You have captured the bird very well, although I would have liked his eye a little brighter. Good texture of the wood. You have been a little unlucky having to shoot into the bright background, but sometimes you have to work with what you have. And you have done a good job.

Nice shot Rolanda. Style of this nice bird into the wood is so attractive. Well Done.
